Secondly, if you ever go to a party at Neal's place, you'll be sure to witness his uncanny finesse with the law enforcement. Inevitably, the police arrived at Neal's flat late into Friday evening, and per usual, he was let off with a warning. However, that warning did not come until after Neal had the police set the volume for the music. Neal also proceeded to invite both of the police to stay for a few drinks, and he called the female one cute. Way to be smooth.
Round 2 - Red vs. Yellow and Black vs. Blue (White had a bye)
Black vs. Blue
I cannot remember much at this point, but here's what sticks. Black had to most vocal team, most of which was led by the return of our very own royal athlete. Welcome back to league Jonathan Linstow! :) Black was short on members, but they had an arsenal of veterans charging down the field. The game was neck and neck, but blue squeaked out a victory. I think Blue won with a score of 10-8. (Terry will correct me if I'm wrong!)
Red vs. Yellow
Field two also witnessed the return of an old member, Uli Burke! Always a dangerous player, even in glasses and without cleats (boots for you British folk), Uli helped yellow take a 4-2 lead early into the matchup. However, red was able to tighten up their defense, and they inched back into the game and made yellow trade points with them. The game continued that way until the teams witnessed one of the sickest moments in HKUPA history: Chris came charging down the field, made a lay out D on the disc, and then proceeded to spring back up, and chase down the disc that happened to still be airborne! He ended up making a fantastic grab in the endzone, and successfully completed a wonderful Callahan! I think this broke yellow's spirit, and Red pulled away with a victory, and also proceeded to win (10-8, I think). Congrats!
Round 3 - White vs. Yellow and Black vs. Red (blue was on bye)
White vs. Yellow
Many people, in a rare occasion, came out to the dark side during the week to play round 3. The games were both started on time, and it looked like it would be a great match up between white and yellow. Though missing Captain Tim, Yellow acquired a certain hott female that added some handling depth to the squad. They came out strong and traded points for the first half of the game. A newcomer, Fenton, put up quite a few hucks and made the white team work hard to stay in the game. White fought back, and they posted a few magic points themselves. Slowly, but with confidence, white pulled away and won the game 12-8 (again, i think)
Black vs. Red
Field 2 saw a showdown between two equally skilled teams, with a mix of veteran depth and newbie freshness. I'm not quite sure what happened during this game entirely because Neal brought a bunch of beers, and I was distracted by Michael Ying. However, Michael did throw lots of cross-field hammers with me in between points. All I can say is that Ying needs to tear his ACL so he can practice his form and realize that gimpy people can't chase the disc. One noteworthy game moment involved Chris again, and he made a sick layout grab. Also, I want to mention that the girls looked great (at playing disc that is)! Anyway, I think Black won, but I can't remember the score, and Terry will make all necessary corrections. :)
So...
Get ready for Round 4, happening tonight in So Kan Po (Causeway Bay).
